Day 32: Road trip and The Palace in Granada

Hello everyone!  So sorry I haven't been posting, it's been a crazy few days!  But, here's the post I wrote from Thursday.

Today, we all woke up early to finish packing up our things from our gorgeous Casa Camilia and headed out the door at eight.  We took the five or so hour trip to Granada, also in Spain.  When we drove into the little town, we pulled into a parking lot that seemed somewhat accurate to the location of the hotel and were chased down by a local looking man who really didn't speak any English.  He had us follow him in his car to a slightly sketchy alleyway where he said there was a "complication" with the parking our hotel provides, then demanded twenty euros.  None of which was true so we'd been scammed the first five minutes we'd spent in Granada.  Good start.  When we found our way to the legit parking for our hotel, Hotel Guadalupe, we dragged our luggage up to our room.  We'd planned to have a tour of the Alhambra Palace, which was a few minutes down the street, so we relaxed for a few hours until then.  We then walked down and spend a few hours exploring the stone pathways that led through rose gardens and fountains and mazes.  We looked all around at the amazing architecture and paintings and frescas.  It was incredible and apparently had taken over two hundred years to complete!  Impressive.  It was, however, very hot.  I mean like the Fourth of July in Arizona hot.  So we stopped like seven billion times to get aqua.  After a few hours of stumbling around in the heat, looking at the beautiful gardens and buildings, we decided to go home.  After a long day of traveling and hot tours, we all were extremely excited to take showers, as you can imagine.  We went to sleep fairly early since we had a travel day the next day too.  It was a long but fun day!

Thanks for reading!
