Hey everyone! I hope you're doing fabulously.
Today, we left our nice little Granada hotel and went on our way to the city of Seville, also in Spain. It was about a three hour drive and we had no problems, very nice! We got to our nice hotel and relaxed for a bit before heading out for a bite to eat. Seems simple. Only not. We're in Spain, remember, so the menus are in Spanish. However, Tony did have a translator app so we could figure a few things on the menu. Burgers sounded good, translated the ingredients and, NOPE. It actually had "tale of bull" in it. Do you even consume that? Like is that a thing? Almost all of the things we saw on the menu had scary ingredients so my dad ordered a few of the more "normal" dishes for us to just taste which wasn't bad. Afterwards, we headed down the street to the nice mall they had. It actually was very nice and had a lot of stores in it. We split up and peeked into the stores that interested us and then met back up to go back to the hotel. We all slept or relaxed for a bit and then got cleaned up for the Flamenco show we had tickets for that night. We took a cab to the city square and found the tour leaders who would take us to the show. They walked the group of us to a hotel where another leader would tell us a bit of the history of Flamenco Dancing over a glass of wine. (Yes, even Tony and I *gasps in scandalous surprise*) The history of the dance and music style is really a lot more complex and went on for much longer than I'd thought, it was really neat to learn about. After that, the leader took us to a very small auditorium with a tiny stage in the front. The show started off with a guitar solo, then a guitar solo with a man clapping and stomping, then the guitar solo with the man and with the dancer, and so on. So much raw emotion goes into the music style and you can totally see it on the performers faces and it's so amazing. After the show, we all were herded out and into a little town square where there is a chapel that was all lit up and pretty. We walked through the town for a bit before calling a cab to take us back to our hotel. We all went to bed pretty early because, yet again, the next day is a road trip to the next place!
Thanks for reading!
-Sophia :)
