Hello! Firstly, let me apologize for not posting yesterday, I was kind of dead with jet lag. Here's a quick summary of our second plane ride; after arriving at LAX we had a bit of lunch, (Panda Express for me, Tony, and my mom and a Cuban sandwich for my dad) and looked around the high-end airport stores, most included $400 socks. Then we all hung out and read or looked around for a while until our flight was called and then we entered the plane. We were all surprised at how nice our plane was! We were delighted with comfy seats, TVs, and snacks, a welcome sight for our 9 hour 45 minute fight. The flight went fairly smoothly with no problems and two meals in between LAX and Gatwick.
Once we arrived in Gatwick, we wandered around lost for a bit and found that we needed to get photos taken in a photo booth before we could get our train tickets. Off to the photo booth, where the automated voice tells us not to smile and to tuck our hair behind our ears. Not a good look for yours truly. As you can imagine these turned out great with our lovely travel hair and tired looks. We then preceded to wait in line for a few minutes for our train tickets where we then learned that we did not, in fact, need those previously mentioned mug shots. Also, we learned that Britain is not forthcoming with airport restrooms. By "not forthcoming" I mean that restrooms simply do not exist there. At all. The train was average and nothing extravagant happened. We then took a cab (on the wrong side of the road of course) to our apartment where a nice man named Paulo explained the commodities. We then went off to have a look around our close-by street of shops and restaurants and chose a nice little Italian place for dinner. Arriving back at our flat, "showers!" our foggy, travel-ridden minds exclaimed. "Moooooom," I called, I found, that, as luck would have it, there was no hot water in our entire flat. We did get it fixed though, all is well. We enjoyed a relaxing evening and as soon as our heads hit the pillows, we were out.
