So on Saturday, we had a very nice, relaxing day as we headed on the tube to Covent Gardens where they were having a flea-market-style festival complete with slightly sketchy street performers getting whips dangerously close to various body parts and making uncomfortable, quite perverted remarks to the assistants pulled from the crowd. Very entertaining none the less. There were quite a few booths containing everything from food to scarves to paintings, and everything in between. I loved seeing these as everything was beautifully crafted and looked somewhat handmade. Very pretty. We looked around the shops for a bit and my dad purchased a plaque with Gargiulo on it from a vendor, my mom got a scarf, and Tony and I grabbed some postcards. Then we looked on the streets for a bit where I found a wonderful smoothie from the seemingly very popular health food restaurant Pret A Manger. We then peeked in some shops and then it seemed we found our canal boat plan weakening. There had been an oil spill that was everywhere in the news and this then put quite a damper on our plan of spending a week on the canal. Here's a link to the disaster.
So my dad needed to make some calls, while he did that my mom, Tony, and I all went into the coffee shop, Nero, where I had one of the best chai lattes of my life. (trust me, I've got experience, I'm quite the chai enthusiast.) The boat had officially been canceled. Okay. We then took the tube back to our apartment so everything could get sorted out.
With our bags packed already, we had to go somewhere as check out was the next day at 10:30am. Some calls were made by our travel agent, my dad. We were no longer without a place to stay as the canal boat company had booked us a room in a hotel in the middle of nowhereville: Wychnor (stop staring at your screen trying to pronounce it: why-ch-nore) Park Country Club. Okay cool so we now have somewhere to stay, it's three stars, so who really knows which way that will go.
Okay so my chronological ordered posts stay that way, I'll include the past two days in separate posts. I hope I've left you on somewhat of a cliffhanger as I know how much those bother people. It just means how I write intrigues you. *crosses fingers that it does* I hope you are enjoying the unpredictable life of the Gargiulos.

My lovely mother and I discovered a fairytale-like cart of flowers, so naturally, we had a photo shoot with them. |
