Hey y'all!
So today, we left our glorious apartment in Amsterdam and jumped into a car headed for the airport. Today, we'd be on an hour and a half flight to Paris, France. YAY! When we got to the airport, we had about two extra hours to burn so Tony and I went on an adventure and looked in all of the overpriced travel stores. We also grabbed a bit of breakfast too. When our flight was called, we boarded on time and the flight was smooth. As we started to lose altitude, I was drifting off, but then, BAM! Eiffel Tower in the distance. Very cool to wake up to. When we landed, we grabbed our bags and headed to the center of the airport where my dad called the apartment guy, Eric, to come pick us up. He said we still have about a half an hour so we waited for a bit in the airport for him to come. There was a bit of confusion when he arrived on where to meet him but all was well. He drove us about a half an hour away to our apartment. He showed us around, which wasn't hard to do, it's a one room, one bath apartment! (Three fold out beds and the kitchen in that one room.)
After he left, we decided to see if the "ten minute walk" to the Eiffel Tower that was advertised, was right, and yup, sure enough, in ten or so minutes, walking, walking EIFFEL TOWER. Very cool, and every bit as impressive as you've heard. After that, we headed over to the grocery store to grab the essential food bits and bobs we would need for the stay. After that, we went to the train station to make sure our train passes were in order. All's good. By then, we were all pretty hungry, so my dad cooked up some pasta for dinner and then we all were asleep within an hour. Exhausting but exciting! We didn't really take photos today, so I'll make sure to make up for in in the next few posts.
Thanks for reading!
-Sophia :)
